Plateau Truck & Tractor, LLC was founded over 20 years ago by Ralph and Kevin Padgett.  Ralph (Kevin’s father) had prior successful experience in ownership of a retail tractor dealership and a construction firm.  For many years, Ralph and Kevin had also farmed several hundred acres in the beautiful Cumberland Plateau region.

The “tractor sales bug” bit Ralph again a few years later, when he learned that Kubota Tractor Corporation was interested in establishing a local dealership for its equipment.  With some persuasion from Ralph, Kevin decided to quit farming and join his father in business.

Today, Plateau Truck & Tractor is one of the largest and most successful dealerships in the region.  Based on the lessons learned from farming, a strong emphasis is placed on customer service and support.  The owners and staff at Plateau intimately understand that having the right equipment for the job, and the equipment working properly when called upon, is key to success—whether in farming, construction, commercial landscape and lawn care, or residential lawn maintenance.
